What we collect
When you create an account, MemoryU stores your email address and a password hash. While you use the app, we store your study progress: XP, level, streak, the dates you've studied, which cards you've answered correctly, and any cards you've added to your Mistake Vault.
If you continue as a guest, none of this leaves your device — your progress lives only in the app's local storage and is lost when the app is uninstalled.
What we don't collect
- We don't collect your name, phone number, or location.
- We don't sell or share your data with advertisers.
- We don't use third-party analytics or ad networks.
- We don't read your contacts, photos, or other apps.
How your data is stored
Account data is stored in Supabase, hosted in the United States. Connections are encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Row-level security policies ensure that no other user (including us) can read your study progress without your authentication.
Notifications
If you enable daily study reminders, the notification is scheduled locally on your device. We do not send push notifications from a server — your device handles the reminder itself, and we never see when it fires.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from Settings → Delete Account inside the app. This removes your email, your study progress, and any other personal data from our servers immediately. There is no recovery — once deleted, the data is gone.
Children
MemoryU does not target children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we collect or use data, we'll update this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
